Golden Retrievers have medium length, wavy, double coat consisting of a water-repellent top coat and a soft undercoat. They shed year round but more during warm weather. They are slightly smaller than Labradors and come in a color range of cream to red. Their medium energy level makes them great for families with older children (and other pets!). Golden Retrievers are known to be very kind and therapeutic, they are often therapy dogs for autistic children. All dogs are different even dogs of the same breed. Labrador Retrievers have short, straight and very dense coat that consists of a water-resistant undercoat. They shed year round but more during warm weather. They are slightly bigger than Golden Retrievers and come in many colors the most common being Black, Gold and, Brown. Their high energy level makes them great for families with young children (and other pets!). Labradors are known to be great hunting dogs they are the most popular bird dogs as well as being ranked number one in The American Kennel Club’s popular dog breed ranking.
